Ruby Rodriguez was born and raised in Puerto Rico.​ Since her early years she demonstrated an interest for art and film and during high school discovered her artistic talents and decided to persue them. While studying art as her undergrad she finaly decided to venture and explore the world of film. By doing producer and art department work on her earlier short-films, Ruby gained some confidence and started writing and directing projects, which resulted in starting graduate school as a Film major. To date, Ruby has decided to become a full-time production designer and has worked on various short films and has many in pre-production but without stopping her filmmaker ventures.
